buzztouch is open source, flexible, powerful, and professional web-based software that powers tens of thousands of iPhone, iPad and Android applications. The buzztouch platform enables developers to create mobile applications ("apps") and manage dynamic content within existing apps. It is used in conjunction with the iOS and Android software developer kits (SDK's). Founded in 2009 by IT entrepreneur David Book, buzztouch is used by more than 175,000 people worldwide. My role at buzztouch is to foster new relationships with developers and to manage and grow the new buzztouch Plugin Market. The Plugin Market is an opportunity for developers to share and sell their own app functions for Android and iOS with other app developers who use buzztouch for making apps. The market was launched on September 1, 2012. I work from my home in Hopkins, Minnesota.

 Contract Negotiations: Serves on the Medica team that negotiates the annual contract with the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). This contract allows Medica to provide Medicaid benefits to 150,000 enrollees and is valued at over $700 million annually.  Compliance Management: Directs the work of the team responsible for implementing new laws and maintaining compliance. Developed and implemented a detailed compliance monitoring system. Cultural Competency: Leads Medica-wide initiatives to improve the cultural competency and health literacy of the Medica network of providers. Primary achievement was the creation of train-the-trainer programs on cultural competency and health literacy. Over 100 train the trainer kits have been delivered to trainers at clinics and hospitals.  Product Written Materials: Manages the development and printing of customer materials with an annual printing budget of $350,000. Project Management: Provides project management for product changes, process improvements, and cost-savings initiatives. Received Medica’s Cornerstone Award for leadership of a project to make comprehensive changes to the MinnesotaCare program.  Claims and Enrollment: Directs the work of the team that oversees claims and enrollment transactions for 125,000 covered lives. Information Technology: Directs the team that manages enrollment and encounter data transfers between the Minnesota Department of Human Services and Ovations, and from Ovations to Medica’s Pharmacy Benefit Manager and dental vendors.

 Call Center Leadership: Supervised the work of fifteen employees in two phone service units. Merger Experience: Integrated and restructured the provider service call centers of two merging organizations, Physicians Health Plan and Share Health Plan. Claims Management: Managed physician claim processing procedures, including claims processing automation.

Assisted patients with enrolling for insurance programs, like Medicaid and Medicare, and some internal Methodist programs.
