I obtained my MSc in Forest Ecology at the University of Alberta with the Ecosystem-based Research into Boreal Forest Management project. I obtained my BSc in Biology with an emphasis in botany at Northwest Missouri State University. One year of my undergraduate was spent studying forestry at the Itä-Suomen Yliopisto (University of Eastern Finland). I spent over four years working for a plant nursery where I learned basic botanical knowledge and communication skills. My interests developed more focused into forest research which led to jobs with the Connecticut Agricultural Research Station and the Appalachian Highlands Inventory & Monitoring Network. I also did a short stent in the private sector as a Consulting Utility Forester for MidAmerican. Currently, I am thrilled to be conducting land stewardship work at the Island Nature Trust here on the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island.
