My academic career has been a diverse and extended journey. Diverse due to visits at universities in Copenhagen, Varanasi, Berlin and Lund, and extended because of exactly that. Initial travels in India inspired me to study Indian philology at the University of Copenhagen, consisting mainly of Sanskrit and ancient literature. I decided to focus on contemporary India. Additional elective courses included anthropological theory and methodology, and anthropological and ethnological discourse. These courses enabled me to approach subjects from different and critical angles. My studies in Berlin at the Humboldt University included Indian politics, the Independence Movement, Colonialism, Social Structure and Media Systems, giving me a broad knowledge of contemporary India. I especially engrossed myself in elaborate research work on homosexuality in Indian media landscape and film universe. I have been active in a number of organisations and activities. During my stay in India I worked as a volunteer at a day-care centre for mentally handicapped. I also volunteered at an organisation in Copenhagen, which through regular flee markets collects money to support NGO´s in Tamil Nadu, India, and Bangladesh. Here I got an insigth into the administration and devision of funds, and into the processes and arrangements taken into consideration when contributing to the support of development in the Indian civil society. At the same time I was active in student bodywork as a contact person and organiser of the introduction week for the new students of the department. Learning of the workings of International Organisation was given during an internship at the New Delhi based UNFPA office. I consider my anthropological studies and knowledge about a country’s cultural heritage and history, combined with my experience in small-scale developmental work and the organisation of student bodywork, an asset to getting involved in developmental work.Specialties: One of my greates skills is creating order in caos, and thus organise anything from physical items to theoretical topics. The coordinations of tasks and people is connected to my organisatory mind.I work well as an independant person but also feel comfortable in a team where I see advantages and potential of deliberation and information sharing. My experience in various mulitcultural settings and diverse environments have enabled my to develop diplomatic communication skills.
