Later that year we were presented with the award for "Best at Breaking" at Danmarks Radio.

As one of five driven and ambitious journalists I was part of this Copenhagen based start-up penning fresh perspectives on Africa in covering the continent as we would Denmark. Very pleased to see DR (our equivalent to the BBC) and Politiken (our equivalent to the Guardian) broadcast several of our stories and especially happy to see Børsen (our equivalent to the Financial Times) do a series about entrepreneurs in Africa weeks after we launched ours.

When back in Copenhagen I began mentoring troubled teens in run down areas of the city. These days I volunteer for the "adult" Red Cross at the program Restoring Family Links - a program where refugees can get reunited with family members they have lost contact with during their flight.

Interned at Parliament, news desk, crime desk and the freesheet 24timerXtra.Asked to join the team covering the election in 2007 I had three weeks of no sleep and loads of fun. After that I was hurled on to the crime desk, news desk and then Parliament and did several stories that got quoted by leading media outlets and still surfaces from time to time.As an intern in spe I spend my first day stumbling upon a landlord stripping his tenants of their savings in an elaborate scheme. In the end he fled to Thailand and DR (our equivalent to BBC) broadcasted the story in a series of investigative reporting called ‘Taskforce’ - and I was hired.
