Founded Motive Mechatronics with another former Google employee with the aim of incorporating low-cost, force-sensing actuators into more common, everyday applications.In our time at Motive, we have worked on several projects as a consultant for some of the largest research-based robotics companies in the bay area including SRI International, Verb Surgical, and Google X. Additionally, we developed some unique products such as a force-sensing chest press exercise machine for adaptive loading to provide constant effort throughout the exercise's motion instead of simply providing constant weight. Most recently we have developed a line of modular, low-cost, cycloid-based, force-sensing actuators with custom motor controller and associated software suite that can be used to create nearly any kind of robotic subsystem that is needed. To date, we have built 7-DOF anthropomorphic arms, powered steer and drive casters for a mobile base, and a 200+ Nm 5-DOF torso for positioning arms and a sensor suite all with the same fundamental actuator design.

Meka Robotics was co-founded by Aaron Edsinger of the Humanoid Robotics Group led by Professor Rodney Brooks at MIT. Responsibilities included design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and assembly of electromechanical systems for research humanoid robotic platforms that featured force sensing actuation, differential joints, and sensor and electronics integration. I was also responsible for the design and fabrication of test rigs for the characterization of sensor and drive-train systems, FEA modeling and optimization of mechanical components, mechanical drawings, vendor-coordination, and prototyping with hand and computer-controlled machine tools. Sensor characterization and selection, electronic assembly and testing including cabling and PCB assembly.
