The Governor Robert D. Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship is a two-year leadership program that aims to develop Indiana’s next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. Each year, a new class of talented graduating seniors is selected from among hundreds of applicants and paired with a high-growth, fast-paced host company. These companies provide fellows with executive mentorship and a full-time position that highlights their strengths. Outside of the regular workday, fellows engage in monthly Business Leader Meetings, non-profit consulting initiatives, social gatherings, and much more.As Director of Technology, I facilitated the research and rollout of software to improve the efficiency of our growing organization, and I developed a technical transition plan. I also wrote a scheduling program for the Fellowship to use during the selection of its new class, optimizing a previously manual process that took over eight hours to complete.

At its core, BidPal’s mission is to enable non-profit organizations of all shapes and sizes raise money to better support the causes they are passionate about helping. Today, our vision of building “Technology for Good” has evolved to include an auction management suite, complete with an electronic mobile bidding platform, a mobile app, and many more tools to help your next Gala or fundraising event be the most successful to date.BidPal has truly enabled me to expand beyond the expectations of a typical software engineer. I have made substantial contributions to improve our core Java applications and have enjoyed building out our OAuth2.0 implementation in addition to our mobile and payment RESTful APIs. I have been our lead iOS developer since April 2015 and have independently built out the majority of our current application, leveraging technologies such as Objective-C and Swift, Cocoapods, AFNetworking, and more. I also work extensively with Amazon Web Services and AngularJS, maintain our Continuous Integration system, and have served as team Scrum Master since January 2016.
