Senior management position with direct responsibility for planning and managing department’s $90M annual operating and $55M annual capital budget that features more than 650 full-time equivalent employees and helps to support and provide services at more than 4,000 acres of parkland that includes 170 parks, 26 recreation centers, over 100 miles of trails, 3 aquatic facilities, 4 golf courses, 77 playgrounds, CHS Field, and the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. *Also held position in interim capacity (Oct. 2013-Dec. 2013 & March 2017 - May 2017)• Serve as Chief Financial Officer and develop, plan, and manage department’s complex $145M annual budget that features state and federal grant funding, various capital funding, enterprise-based and fee-generating activities, and property funded services• Develop, plan and manage budget of newly authorized local option sales tax that will generate $250M to support Parks and Recreation capital improvements over the next 20-years• Manage one of department's seven divisions and lead a high performing team of accounting, marketing, customer service, and community outreach professionals as part of the department’s administration, finance and planning division• Lead department’s compliance with National Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) from the National Recreation and Parks Association (re-accredited 2008, 2013, 2018 & 2023)• Lead various long-term strategic planning initiatives including the comprehensive asset management study and system plan for more than $700M in parks and recreation facilities and assets in Saint Paul• Facilitate and manage business and technology system applications and lead the department on requests for proposal, technology use, grants, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts• Help advance the department’s equity initiatives through hiring decisions, employee development, community collaboration, and service delivery improvements
