The Common Components team develops UI components for the CX Engineering track teams. These components are used as building blocks to deliver features at scale with ease while maintaining a unified, intuitive user experience across multiple Cisco customer and partner platforms.Key Contributions:• Developed 20+ accessible and reusable design system components used by 150+ engineers across 12+ teams and 3 platforms• Initiated organization-wide accessibility initiative by analyzing the design system and platforms for gaps and creating a development plan to resolve them• Improved designer-developer hand-off process, which reduced the development timeline from 3 to 2 sprints; also reduced the number of gaps found during usability testing

The New Product Introduction (NPI) team empowers Product Managers at Cisco with the tools to configure their product offerings easily and efficiently. I like to refer to my work here as "prototype to production" because I am often the designer and developer of my features.Key Contributions:• Developed, from prototype to production, Angular web apps for Product Managers to complete tasks such asgo-to-market planning and offer configurations• Prevented costly iterations due to redesigns by providing high-fidelity prototypes for early stakeholder feedback; projects I handled had 60% fewer usability issues reported compared to other releases• Established best practices for working in a globally distributed team by creating templates for documents like API request and response requirements

The Subscription Billing Platform team builds and supports the technologies that help enable the recurring revenue business within Cisco. After a year of supporting the team's IT analysts and architects, I came into my own as a Technical Solutions Engineer, designing end-to-end solutions for new capabilities for our subscription lifecycle management platform.Key Contributions:• Designed end-to-end solutions for major billing scenarios such as the Try and Buy program for subscriptions, which accounted for 74% of Cisco's software revenue in FY20• Improved the release cycle from quarterly to monthly by breaking down large solutions into smaller iterative work• Represented the Subscription Billing Platform team as an SME on platform functionalities, giving demos in workshops and stakeholders, as well as collaborating cross-functionally with other Cisco product business units• Provided ground-level support to Product Managers and Business Unit operations as they enable their XaaS product offerings on the platformTools used: Oracle SQL Developer, Postman, Sketch, Gitbucket, ServiceNow

Key Contributions:• Created API services for the Subscription Billing Platform to interface with other Cisco internal platforms like Invoice and Revenue, as well as product endpoints for provisioning, such as Webex calling• Developed a Webex chatbot to automate meeting room reservations, especially when negotiations are required to confirm a room will actually be usedI also assisted our Customer Support teams in the following tasks: • Root-cause analysis of issues with a subscription order (Tools used: Oracle SQL Developer, Kibana, Postman)• Acted as liaison for the developer team by taking ownership of the communication around production issues (Tools used: ServiceNow)

The Migration Research Cluster at UC Davis is part of an initiative of the Office of Research to promote migration-related research and scholarly activities on campus that reach across disciplines.I was hired primarily to assist the Program Coordinator with site updates and content creation. After a few months of working with Cascade CMS, the university began a migration effort to SiteFarm, which was powered by Drupal 8. With guidance from the university's IT organization, I migrated the website to the new content management system and took this as a chance to optimize the website's user experience. I helped standardize website operations by creating playbooks for future student web assistants Projects:• Site migration between different content management system (Cascade CMS to Drupal 8)• Developed template pages with Drupal 8 to standardize the website interface and user experience• Identified website errors and communicated technical issues to non-technical supervisors to address these problems

Design for America (DFA) is a nationwide network of student-led, interdisciplinary studios of college students who use human-centered design to create local and social impact.Highlights:• Led an interdisciplinary studio with 30 active student members working on 4-5 social impact projects• Coordinated with fellow studio leads, faculty/alumni mentor, and department chairs to foster a good, collaborative relationship• Created and facilitated workshops in hard skills (programming languages, design software) and soft skills (design process, intra-personal communications) to take student teams from problem to prototype, idea to implementation.

HackDavis is UC Davis’s major collegiate 24-hour hackathon dedicated to social good. It was founded in 2016 and continues to be record-breaking and steadfast in encouraging social impact hacks.Highlights:• Established and founded the External Affairs arm of HackDavis, responsible for partnerships between HackDavis and non-profit organization partners, as well as key sponsors and partner on-campus organizations• Headed day-of logistical operations, managing 25+ volunteers and their tasks• Continued on to organize HackDavis 2017 with a larger team and became responsible for training fellow students to take over HackDavis 2018 and beyond

Intern Project: Spark (now "Webex Teams") chatbot capable of assisting in Cisco business operations. It streamlined resource allocation for meetings, by finding and reserving available rooms, and confirming past reservations (using Cisco Tropo).
