As a gay non-binary person living in Malaysia, navigating a society that heavily stigmatizes theLGBTQ community with same-sex relationships being criminalized under the law, being legallyregistered and brought up as Muslim means having to grapple with an identity that is notacknowledged and discriminated against by the system.At its core, there should be a wider movement or conversation around tacklingsuch disparity between the wider community and the marginalized. I am committed toadvocating for language justice regardless of background or identity, breakingdown barriers and promote greater inclusion and accessibility, and pushing forpolicy changes and accessible education.I aspire to drive change through building and optimizing processes, implementing newstrategies and prioritizing communications to enhance effectiveness and inclusivity. I believe inan era where work spaces have shifted due to Covid-19, transparent and clear communication have become of basal importance to ensure efficiency in the work we do.
