I successfully completed my internship in Component Manufacturing Plant at AHL. I learnt and observed different CNC machining processes such as milling, drilling, reaming, facing, turning, tapping, grinding, hardening, boring and honing. I observed metal and ABS paint shops. I observed high pressure and low pressure die casting and gravity die casting. I worked on the project 'Design of Ventilation System of Paint Mixing Room'. I studied the National Fire Protection Agency Article-33 and applied its knowledge for this project. I assessed that the current installed exhaust system was undersized. The required CFM for this paint mixing room of metal paint shop must be 2676 CFM according to the NFPA-33. Hence, I suggested to upgrade the current ventilation and lower the exhaust vents to 12 in from the ground as described by NFPA-33.I also worked on the 'Design of Oil Filter of Honing Machine'. I analyzed the problem and visualized the solution in the form of a CAD model on SolidWorks. I estimated the annual cost saving of about 3.5 M PKR and 1.25 manhours per day.

I successfully completed my six-week internship in Asset Integrity and Inspection Department. I learned about health and safety, pumps, valves, turbines, HVAC and heat exchangers. I learnt and performed different Non-Destructive Testing techniques including vibration monitoring, thermography, dye penetrant testing, radiographic testing, etc. I got the chance to participate in the following projects:- Tank Bottom Replacement of AABU (Asphalt Air Blowing Unit)- Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) of Jet Fuel Tank Bottom- Rapid Motion Scanning (RMS) of LPG Spheres.
