About Micol Fascendini

A Medical Doctor with a Master Degree in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Master Degree in One Health from the Royal School of Veterinary Studies of the University of Edinburgh. She has been working in PH and SRH programs for over 20 years, mainly in East Africa and Southeast Asia.She has strong passion and competence in One Health, a multidisciplinary and participatory approach aiming at sustainably balance and optimize the health of humans, animals and the environment. Her other sectors of interest include: SRHR, with special attention to adolescents and youth; MCH, promoting universal access to skilled birth delivery, emergency obstetric and neonatal care; PHC, through community empowerment and provision of essential preventive and curative services.Her core skills and competencies include: situational analysis and needs assessments; review of strategies and best practices, for the development of (one) health interventions; analysis of health priorities to inform/guide actions planning; project proposals development; training and capacity building of health and non-health personnel; health data management to inform decision-making and programmatic planning; monitoring and evaluation; and operational research.
