The internship program at Aurora Films is designed to introduce the student to full-service film and video production methods. The student will not be required to, but should be prepared to, interact directly with clients.In preproduction, the student will have access to creative brainstorming sessions,script breakdown, production scheduling techniques, and possibly some locationscouting responsibilities.On set, they will become familiar with professional shooting and lighting techniques.The responsibilities during production will be that of a Production Assistant wherethe duties will be dictated by the needs of the production. These may include scriptsupervising, basic grip and electric handling, talent wrangling, craft service running,etc.In the postproduction environment, the student will gain a range of skills that isbased on the amount of time the student intends to spend with Aurora. He or shewill have hands-on access to Final Cut HD edit suites. Responsibilities include, butare not limited to, logging, digitizing, and editing. Color correction techniques andsound sweetening may also be introduced based on the job at hand. Time may alsobe spent learning the ins and outs of other software such as After Effects, Maya, andStudio Pro.The intern’s responsibilities will be discussed and implemented based on themoment-to-moment needs of Aurora Films.
