About Finny Mathew

Since graduating with my PhD, having a varied educational background enabled me to work in a start-up environment focused on developing and commercializing biosensor technologies. At nanoRETE, I loved working with our team of self-motivated individuals to develop a lateral flow-based assay for diagnosis of tuberculosis infection in humans, and verified its analytical performance in an IRB-approved human pre-clinical trial. In my first position with Oxford Diagnostic Laboratories (ODL) as a Senior Scientist, I was part of a diverse R&D team that was focused on using the company's core diagnostic technology to develop new products, exploring novel assay concepts, and improving products already in the market. In my next role with Quest Diagnostics TB, LLC (a Quest Diagnostics Esoteric Lab, and formerly, ODL) as a QA Specialist, I was again part of a team with varied experiences that performed QA functions such as internal audits, document control, change control, managing Non-conformances, and monitoring KPIs. I helped design and configure 21 CFR Part 11 compliant electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) modules. While with Quality and in my more recent roles (QMS Project Manager and Associate Science Director) at Quest, I have been leveraging my past R&D and Quality experience to support qualification of automation equipment (liquid handlers, analyzers) to be used for ELISPOT assays, full process validations, new product development, and improvements to existing products and technologies. My long-term goal is to lead a team of professionals focused on providing practical solutions to the customers' pain points in the diagnostics market through consistent quality and continuous improvements so as to exceed customer expectations.

Listed skills include Microbiology, Food Safety, Commercialization, R&D, and 24 others.
