Vessels surveyed included the new build Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers at Rosyth, supply ships, passenger transfer craft, new build and existing ferries, etc. Witnessed underwater dive inspections, sea trials, factory acceptance testing, weld inspections, and Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) trials. Surveys have also been performed in conjunction with Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) inspectors, with Class and Flag representatives working together to inspect vessels. Independent factory acceptance inspections were also been performed on behalf of clients, testing Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) vessel control units, Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier high voltage control units, and stability testing of submarine-to-aircraft loading ramps.Gained familiarity with Class Rules and their application in a practical environment. Developed an understanding of the marine industry, and in particular the complex relationship between the customer, shipyard, class society, and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). Show less
