I am a seasoned hands on technology leader with a passion for architecting and developing solutions that matter.With a proven track record, I enjoy bringing teams together to maximize productivity. I truly have a "Customer First" philosophy.Most recently as CTO at Aspera, I played a major role in bringing media solutions to the masses. In addition to being responsible for Aspera's developer offerings, my team worked closely with our most demanding customers to ensure mutual success.My combination of software development, communication, and troubleshooting skills tends to make me somewhat of a go to person by customers and colleagues alike. I have a passion for solving difficult technical problems. My experience and background in IP networking, allows me to apply a disciplined approach to troubleshooting. Over the years, I have developed methodologies and tools to aid in troubleshooting. My experience on both sides of the fence gives me perspective that others may not have. I also played a major role in bringing forth Aspera's Streaming technology which has been used for some of the most demanding live events in the world, including the 2018 Men's World Cup from Moscow, the 2019 Women's World Cup from Paris, and Super Bowl LIV from Miami.I am an Emmy award winner - Technical Team Studio for my part in the 2019 Women's World Cup. I have also received several other Technical Emmy Nominations and industry awards including the HPA Technical Excellence Award.I also have a deep understanding and experience with both public and private Cloud technologies. I feel that my experience and understanding from both a development and an operational standpoint, allows me to make more well informed decisions when architecting Cloud based solutions. I've also developed a number of hybrid applications and services that leverage both public Cloud and on-premise services.I have been working with network technologies since the early 1980's having helped create other award winning products including Novell LANWorkPlace and Netware 5.At Sorenson Media I led the engineering team that created the award winning Sorenson Video Relay Service (VRS), which was acquired by a private equity firm.I am very platform/language agnostic. I believe in using the right tool/platform/language for the task at hand and am skilled using a variety of languages and platforms.
