As a musician Maciej is an active performer and teacher in the Los Angeles area. During the past years he played bassoon as principal with numerous orchestras in California, Texas & New York. Maciej also performed with many chamber groups such as Jacaranda and wildUP. As a recording artist, Maciej performs on films, television and video games. He took part in numerous music festivals in the US, Mexico & Europe. Maciej is fortunate to have collaborated with some of the world’s famous artists and musicians, including as Yo-Yo Ma, Burt Bacharach, Yefim Bronfman, Carl St. Clair, John Williams, Alan Silvestri, IL Volo, and Charles Fox. Many of his performances have been featured on radio stations, K-Mozart and KUSC. In 2011 Maciej was featured soloist with the OC Symphony in the "Five Sacred Trees" by John Williams. Maciej is the bassoonist of the Midnight Winds, Los Angeles based ensemble with captivating presence and musical imagination. They have been featured guest artists at the Schneider Series in New York, CalArts, LACMA’s Sundays Live, and quintet-in-residence for Chamber Music Sedona, Arizona. Specialties: Maciej Flis holds a Masters Degree from the CalArts, where he was a recipient of Lovelace Music Scholarship, an Artist Diploma from the USC, as a recipient of Flossie Meline Oliver Pieper Scholarship, and a Masters Degree from the Bacewicz Academy of Music in Poland.
