Also known as Martin Jostam.Working with IT from a risk and security point of view, on a high level requires some specific skills. These skills are not something that can be learned at a course or by reading a couple of manuals. Working with bleeding edge technologies, risk management and IT security requires a wide and deep knowledge of both IT technologies and how a business works. This takes years of practice in the trade and with many differently sized companies. From the very beginning of my IT career, I've been working either directly with, or close to, the top management. A person with my skills must by definition be able to understand, master and present technologies, threats and consequences to the deciding management. Since I've been working with companies with anything from one site to multiple sites in up to 50 countries, I'm used to working with all kinds of businesses and all kinds of networks. As I have been working with both SAP R3 and Oracle applications/Gems I also have a good understanding of how large corporate systems work and the many external security complications that accompany these systems.Some of my strongest skills include the design of strategic plans, tactical plans (road maps) and the ability to present objective plans/designs to top management. From almost the beginning of my IT career, I have on a regular basis been doing project management. My initial training for management and leadership was by the Swedish army where I was a platoon leader. My biggest strength is my thorough understanding of the threats and difficulties facing a client that is trying to achieve a secure network environment. This enables me to design strong workable solutions that meet my employer's needs while remaining flexible enough to ensure user-buy in.
