About Marcel De Boer

My name is Marcel, I am a 3D Artist with a specialization in Environment Art. I studied Creative Media and Games Technologies, 3D Visual Arts at the Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) in The Netherlands.As an Environment Artist, I am passionate in making rich, compelling, and story-driven environments through modular assets, world-building and set dressing. I have a fondness for creating materials, modelling props, composition, and lighting. I am flexible in working with multiple themes and art-styles, from realistic to stylized.I have 8 years of experience using Maya, Photoshop, Unreal Engine, Unity, Quadspinner GAEA and PBR workflow using Substance Painter & Designer. While Environment Art is my main area of specialization, I have a keen interest for other areas of game development, such as concept-art, lighting, VFX and level-design. I am curious and passionate about learning new methods, pipelines, and push for quality in the projects I work on.
