With a formal education in hydrogeology, GIS and geology, and a career history of sales, government work, team leadership and executing educational events and marketing programs, I am a diverse candidate with multiple abilities. I moved back to St. Louis in 2019 to work with New York Life. When I joined NYL I believed I would be working face to face with clients but had to pivot to develop my practice to be almost entirely virtual due to covid restrictions, being the leader in the St. Louis office for long term care insurance sales in the new org working individually creating my own business and marketing plans.Working in sales is proof that I excel at servicing clients by providing valuable experiences in transaction. I advanced to a management position at REI, a role that encompassed online sales, special orders, managing and teaching new employees, as well as opening and closing a multimillion-dollar retail location in the greater Chicago area. I was a member of REI’s national KANBAN team - in charge of developing customer retention for order pickup clients. I taught through the outdoor school and was an ambassador at regional and national events including Ragnar and outdoor conferences. I helped develop the use of salesforce at retail locations, using kernel data to drive sales through actively researching itemized purchases on location.I progressed into a PhD program studying carbonate chemistry, GIS, and hydrogeology with a dedication to carbon sequestration studies in the vadose zone. I have honed my ability to understand detailed interpretation of data and processes, and this facilitates my understanding of complex problem solving. I use statistics and analysis to provide real world extrapolation of information provided to me and can interpolate scientific information and present it to the masses. This is evident in my work both with the state of Texas working with Rabba Kistner Labs and Woodruff Consulting on state contracts, and with the City of Lawrence Kansas developing and contributing to the production of the city’s recycling management utilizing GIS.Throughout my educational and career development, my ability to surround myself with people, and develop interpersonal and professional relationships has been tantamount to my overall success. I can engage with a wide variety of people from various backgrounds. I relate to people easily.
