Reporting to the President/CEO, the Vice President of Philanthropy’s (VPP) primary focus is to align the Museum’s philanthropy strategy with BCM’s strategy and vision for the future. The VPP serves as chief strategist for fundraising and is charged with increasing philanthropic revenue for the Museum as well as family, corporate and library membership. He significantly enhanced donor relations, with a particular emphasis on foundations and family donors. He served as the liaison to the Advocacy Committee and is credited with the formation of The Adult Onset Disability Alliance (AODA) together with other nonprofit groups. Mr. Travis was a key leader in the development and design of the first-ever urban Green House for people living with ALS. He participated in the planning and implementation of a 5 million dollar major gifts campaign to support the future programs and services at the ALS Residence. The residence at The Leonard Florence Center for Living opened its doors in January, 2009.
