I’ve loved art my whole life, but it turns out that I’m more interested in helping to communicate other people’s visions than my own. As a kid, my dream was to be a painter, but I generally found more inspiration in making things that other people wanted or needed than in creating something based solely on my own ideas. The nerd in me has also always loved being a student: getting to learn, thriving on a bit of structure. I’m interested in people, what speaks to them and motivates them; and in knowing how things work, and why.As a designer, I strive for great client relationships and a thorough understanding of the brief. Once I’ve established the parameters, the challenge of making something that is as beautiful as possible within that structure is the fun part. I’m into meaningful detail and polished typography. Digging in and working through a process is my happy place. The most satisfying kind of project is one where I can learn from and collaborate with the people around me, and design for a client who is putting something positive and constructive into the world.
