This was a contract labor job, developing a Filemaker Pro database app that included the ability to create a print catalog of products with barcodes. The same database if run on an iPhone or iPad would also allow a store to scan a barcode to find a product and then place that product on an order and send the order to the wholesaler. In addition to this specific app, I built a Sales management app as well as a data importer app for bringing in data for the catalogs from a variety of sources and preparing the data to be ready for the catalog app.

Outside advertising sales is my game if you need to draw attention to your business I'm your man!

This job was an outside sales job for business consulting services. It was great experience, as I learned that I could really sell, but the product just wasn't for me to sell.

As the owner I was responsible for all aspects of the business including screen printing, artwork, order taking and processing, vendor orders, retail inventory and more.

I built this small WiFi hotspot company for Cameron Communications with the help of a very small crew. We started with the idea that WiFi hotspots should be free, but you should also be able to make money at it as well. I found us the excellent Aptillo software to manage the gated community & provide QOS at multiple speeds 64K for free, and 128K and 256K as paid services for a specified time. I helped design the networks, select the hardware, and do the installation of these networks.

Worked for John Henning. Did the camtel.net web site, did prepaid long distance, and ran the WifiFast.

This job was doing something that I was reluctant to do at first, because I knew nothing about prepaid long distance nor did I want to learn about it. But, I did just that and I must say that I learned a lot along the way, made friends, and built up sales from just over 100K a year to around 500K in the three years that I ran it. I built a database to manage our customers and create their bills, I created a website to showcase the products and features of the products, and I set up a PayPal account and created electronic billing and payment for our customers which streamlined the operation and reduced costs. I created a marketing manual, as well as a customer service manual which helped grow the business while limiting our costs. This was virtually a part time one man half a million dollar a year operation, and it made a healthy profit.

I was one of three founders, and an owner in this company. I actually named our very successful book, User Friendly Yellow Pages which went on to become a great nationwide success.

After I left Characters but before I started doing the production management at Safari I did temp work for MacTemps, and freelance advertising & web design.

This was a great job. It was the largest prepress shop in Houston, TX, with over 100 employees.
