After working in IT sales for a few years in London, I have worked in primary school education since 2004. Since 2004 I have worked as a teacher in primary schools in the UK, where I gained a range of experiences. As well as teaching full-time, I have also been a phase leader across two schools, a staff governor, NQT and trainee mentor and staff coach. I took a break from classroom teaching for a few years, starting in 2019, to run my own business, teaching values such as respect, courage and trust, via karate workshops. Unfortunately, I began this business five months before the Covid pandemic, and ultimately had to cease trading due to this. During this time, when students were based at home, and often struggling with exercising and mental health, I produced a video series for home learning. My videos, eight in total, taught karate techniques and mindfulness and was aimed at primary school pupils. Word spread about my videos and I ended up making them available, free of charge, to over 3000 schools across the world. Since September 2021, I have continued my classroom teaching career in China, and LOVE what I do.
