| Even though I didn't know it at the time, I started becoming a career coach when I was 19 years old. After giving over 75 admissions tours as a work-study student in college, I found myself wanting a new challenge and one that did not require me to walk backward all day. I landed a job as a career assistant serving my student peers in the Cornell College career services office. Luck and happenstance crashed together for me and my interactions with students, staff, and employers touched off a drive and motivation to help others design better career lives. I found my career calling at a young age and have spent the last 28 years acquiring and building a career identity as a career coach, teacher, advisor, speaker, consultant, entrepreneur and leader in the career development planning field. || I believe career coaching delivered through human interaction and technology can help and change people to claim more of what they want in their career lives. || I believe college career services, outplacement, private practice career coaching, and related fields are ripe for innovation and disruption. I've spent many years building and improving the career development experience for a diverse group of employers, students, and professionals inside for-profit companies, online universities, liberal arts colleges, and graduate schools. || I believe far too many people are unhappy with their jobs, disengaged in their current role, frustrated by a lack of direction and clarity about their next step, and yet...closer than they realize to crafting a career identity that will help them bring their talents and gifts to the work world. || I believe I can help...as I'm curious, interested, and dedicated to listening to the career-related challenges you or your organization face today and engaging in conversation about ways to add value and design solutions that lead to the outcomes you desire. |
