Here at Blint, we own, install and operate automated protein shake machines and kiosks in locations where people often lack access to a convenient and nutritious food or beverage options. This includes athletic facilities, health centers, universities/colleges, and office buildings. As the Environmental Coordinator for CN in Ontario, I was tasked with ensuring that CN rail lines, yards and property were in compliance with Environment Canada regulations. This included proper containment and monitoring of fuel sources, contaminants or other goods. An effective inspection program and open communication with other CN personnel was paramount in maintaining compliance. In the case of a derailment or release of a product or substance potentially harmful to the surrounding environment, I would assist in coordinating the appropriate response and subsequently manage subcontractors retained by CN Environment to assist in the response. In such cases, I would also maintain proper communication with any concerned government bodies (e.g. Ministry of Environment, Environment Canada, political party representatives, etc.). Higher scale emergency responses required long term environmental remediation activities. This involved implementing strategies to rid environmental risks as efficiently as possible while remaining conscious of economic factors or restraints. Managing capital upgrade projects within CN rail yards was another responsibility of mine. Examples of such projects included stormwater infrastructure improvements and contaminant containment upgrades.

I was also responsible for summarizing on-site activities and analytical data, conduction of FOIA requests and follow-ups for site information, and examining site analytical findings and remediation results. September - December 2012Contributed to conceptual designs for solid waste management facilities, while also assisting in compiling information and writing due diligence and feasibility reports. I was also responsible for presenting certain changes to environmental standards relevant to the team (e.g. compost quality standards)

My responsibilities included assisting with contaminated site remediation through water chemistry and soil sampling, monitoring water well levels as well as groundwater and soil quality, and communication and scheduling with other on-site contractors. I also worked with water treatment and dewatering systems in an effort to filter contaminated water sources.
