• Whilst working with Metrol my practical skills learnt at university were applied to real world challenges, requiring highly toleranced work to be carried out on short time scales. My skills of project management, work prioritisation, as well as teamwork were all developed. This position taught me to strive for excellence even further, since parts designed have real world cost implications.• As a student engineer,my responsibilities included:o Creating and updating complex parts and assemblies in line with standards set out by Metrol. All parts were designed using engineering logic and calculations where required for decisions made.o Engineer for manufacture logic was used throughout the position in order to reduce cost and machining time.o Ordering parts and ensuring that correct quality checks are carried out in order to be ready to be used on ongoing operations.
