In charge of the ETL practice, my responsibility as a Tech Lead is to design and execute the strategy to broaden the SQL Data Base skills of the consultants to incorporate Big Data capabilities towards the deployment of AI and Data Science applications.

Ad-hoc ETL development with the Spark Big Data framework, using Scala and Java programming languages. Other related Big Data tools that I work with on a daily basis: Hive, Elastic Search, Cassandra, AWS S3, Druid, Qubole.

Our challenge is to enable our clients to improve their business processes by defining KPIs from the data they produce every day.

Integrating from external public sources (NYC Department of Buildings) in a private data lake to exploit information about Contractor's licenses for an Insurance Company.The data extraction included digitalizing forms with text in different X,Y coordinates.

- Management of the planning, effort measuring, execution, testing, continuous integration and risk evaluation for internal Java EE/SE developments about Prices, Demand and Supply. The project management methodology used at this phase was RUP and later SCRUM. - High level negotiation with internal Stakeholders for agreeing delivery times and the scope of periodical iterations and sprints.- Conflict resolution between the interactions of system users and the Office staff.- KPIs definition and monitoring for measuring the Office development performance.- Compliance of Bank of Mexico’s audit specification for internal software development.

Main Internal Software Projects involved in: - National Consumer and Producer Price Indexes (Inflation measuring). - Labor and employment Indicators. - Balance of Trade. - Local Tourism indicators. - Institutional Operational Risk Management System.Activities related to these projects: - Business Process Modeling. User interviews for detecting activities, events, people, products and drafting of documentation based on the UML-RUP. - Requirement Analysis. User interviews for gathering business, system and functional requirements using UML and specific internal templates for use case drafting. Requirement change management for already started projects. - Test Case Drafting. High level test design for observing the correspondence of the system modules developed with the requirement use cases. - Use Case Coverage drafting. Reporting of the traceability of the total requirement use case against the successful functional test cases. - Software Development. Implementation of requirement use cases with the Java programing language for standalone, web applications and web services, through development frameworks like Struts and Spring.
