My ongoing comic book series, Adventuring Princesses subverts traditional gender stereotypes in fairytale and fantasy literature for an all ages audience. Additionally, I encourage readers to utilize the white space of my page to color and therefore personalize the narrative.Another ongoing project, the Apothecary of Esoteric Panacea (AEP), is an interactive installation that provides participants with crowd-sourced healing through the use of recycled containers and custom labels. The AEP seeks to address the growing physical disconnect between community members and our ability to provide each other support and relief from psychosocial ailments.Outside of visual art, I am an active community arts organizer. Currently, I am affiliated with Steer Queer Literary Arts Zine, the Pittsburgh Zine Fair, and am pursuing programming for the indie comics community. I am the lead teacher for the Arts in Action afterschool program at Arsenal Middle School where we serve a broad community of students, including those with special needs. My curriculum is project based and varies from individual to collaborative works around the program theme of social justice. I oversee two other teaching artists and work closely with school administrators and teachers.
