Megaphone Strategies was a not-for-profit social justice pr firm. We were majority women, majority LGBTQ, and majority people of color. We offered cutting edge strategy, training, and media relations services to 80+ high-impact social justice organizations, candidates, and individuals. Our mission was to use PR as a tool to diversify the media and politics.We were run by and for the movement, with profits reinvested into the movement to provide services to up-and-coming groups who couldn’t traditionally afford high-level media relations support.

Connected issues that matter with people who care about them in the media. From UltraViolet to the Pretrial Justice Institute and Right to the City to National People's Action, I represented cutting edge social justice organizations to the media and helped them win on campaigns for justice.

Organized and trained a national network of grassroots media coordinators across 100 cities who collectively garnered thousands of media hits and went on to serve their local groups of climate activists for years. I helped train, support, and build regional 350.org groups across the United States. Supported individual chapters to integrate political campaigning into their work allowing them to hold regional and national politicians accountable on climate.

Organized a grassroots lobbying campaign to move Alaska's US Senators in the issue of climate change. The campaign included organizing multiple fly-in community lobbying trips to Washington, DC, mobilizing community leaders and members who care about climate change, and a coordinated ground campaign that included bird dogging and local actions.

Headed up a state-wide effort to move Alaska's congressional delegation on the issue of immigration. Provided communications, lobbying, and organizing support, all while building a local team of community members and leaders passionate about immigrant rights. Organized faith, labor, and immigrant community leaders from the left and right in a coordinated campaign to influence Alaska's Senators and Congressman.
