Primarily responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of the manufacturing department, facility maintenance, oversight of electrical departments, building and grounds safety, and implementing lean initiatives to minimize waste. P&L tracking. Initiated the relocation of the packing department and improved press change that, when coupled with development of new processes and work flow improvements, elevated laminate on-time delivery performance by 6% (98.25). Utilizing lean initiatives, achieved a 40% output increase in the prepreg cutting department by developing layout and plan sequences to improve operational efficiencies, resulting in a 3% increase in quality improvement and a departmental workforce reduction of 3 FTEs. Realized a 50% reduction in prepreg rolls inventories by establishing a real-time packing procedure and diligently monitoring the “First In – First Out” (FIFO) in daily department meetings. Initiated weekly safety meetings across all functional levels of the organization that resulted in a zero-loss in time incidents for 430 consecutive days. Proactive in spearheading a reorganizational initiative of organization’s purchasing process, reducing monthly non-budgeted expenditures from $300K to $115K per year, while improving plant “up-time” from 91% to 98% by modifying shift structures and by improving inventory control accuracy.
