Department: Histology and Embryology.The general focus of the group is driven by the curiosity of how tissues acquire their final shape, structure or function and how they maintain the homeostasis during a lifetime.The primarily focus on a variety of different aspects of tooth growth, regeneration, reparation, physiology and microstructure mostly using specifically genetically modified mice, but also using the acquired knowledge from model organisms in the study of potentials in human regenerative medicine.State-of-the-art:- Animal handling: experimental design, drug administration, caring... Experience with different models: mouse, frog, chicken and chameleon. - Isolation and tissue processing of hard tissues (craneofacial structures and bones).- Histological stainings, immunohistochemisty, RNA in situ hibriditazion.- Mouse genotyping (PCR, electrophoresis).- Tissue clearing protocols.- Microscopy: fluorescencent, confocal, light-sheet, SEM.- Microtome y cryostat (preparación para tejidos blandos y duros).- Stem cells studies in vivo: tracing of LRCs by EdU administration. - Cell culture: mESC y iPSc- Mouse surgeries: dental, kidney implantation, inferior alveolar nerve transection, transcardial perfusion...- scRNAseq experience: human sample preparing.

Main techniques: ▪ Cell cultures. ▪ Immunofluorescence assays. ▪ Confocal microscopy. ▪ DNA isolation (mini-prep, midi-prep and maxi-prep). ▪ Transfection, infection and viral titration. ▪ Colony PCR. ▪ Sanger sequencing (primers design and results analysis). ▪ Bioinformatics and statistics analyses: databases, sequence alignment, FASTA, Snapgene, GraphPad...Due to the results obtained I wrote my final degree project about this topic and was calificated as DISTINCTION (9.0/10).
