I'm Mike. I produce stuff.Still photography, broadcast commercials, narrative films - my production company, Go Atticus, and I can help. In my time producing, I've come to see that production is often viewed as mysterious and daunting. Stressful, tedious, not for everyone. And while there may be some truth to that, it's one of the reasons I like it so much. I like to help. I like to solve problems. I like to nerd out on the details. And I like to keep things easy going and stress free for everyone involved. After all, we're creating something - it should be a little bit fun, right?Self promotion doesn't come easy for me, so instead of listing the background and skillset, I thought I'd share a few of the thousands of things that I try to remember when approaching a new project. I've found that all make this job a little bit easier, and are probably applicable to life in general. ~ Just be kind (it's not that hard)~ Leave your ego at the door (and hopefully, everyone else does the same)~Take responsibility (the buck stops with you, dude)~ Over communicate (even though you'll still get questions about where to park...)~Sh-stuff happens (and there's always a solve!)~Put things in perspective (this is important work, take it seriously. But also, are these new sandals we're filming going to save the world?)~Everyone is a person (job titles aside. We're all people, with friends and families, hopes and dreams.
