In this function, I am the sole legal counsel and contract manager for all Agilent affiliates in Belgium and The Netherlands. In addition, I am also the European legal lead for the Diagnostic and Genome Division. I am responsible for corporate, regulatory, litigation, IP and HR matters as well as all transactional work that relates to the business and research of the Belgian and Dutch affiliates, including public tenders. I manage the relationship with outside counsel and the corresponding legal budget.As European legal lead, I take the lead within EMEA for all legal matters relating the Diagnostic and Genome Division. This includes formulating, implementing and executing a more detailed legal strategy for this division and operating as the main legal contact for all legal EMEA colleagues, all US based specialist lawyers and all senior management within this division.I am member of the Belgian and Dutch country management team and director (member of the board) for Agilent Technologies Belgium NV.

In this function, the main focus lies on five key responsibilities, i.e.:● Legal support for Ablynx’s orphan drug program- Map out and implement, in consultation and agreement with stakeholders, the legal infrastructure required for any proposed commercialisation of Ablynx’s orphan drug program- Legal responsible in all teams focused on the commercialization of Ablynx’s orphan drug, including the leadership team- Legal support for clinical trials and all (commercial) agreements for Ablynx’s orphan drug- Manage international network of outside legal counsels- Part of the cross-function management team to set up and manage pre-approval and managed access of Ablynx’s orphan drug- Ensure implementation of appropriate insurance policies for commercialisation● Corporate- Part of the cross-function management team to set up Ablynx affiliates - Support in mapping out the financial and tax structure for the sale of Ablynx’s orphan drug● Compliance- Be legal main point of contact in all compliance matters related to Ablynx’s orphan drug, including fair market value, GDPR and transparency- Cooperate closely with compliance officer to provide the required compliance support● Acquisition by Sanofi- Provide assistance to VP IP and Legal in the acquisition of Ablynx by Sanofi- Be main point of contact in the legal and compliance integration of Ablynx’s orphan drug program into the Sanofi Genzyme infrastructure● Supervising Legal Manager- Be legal main point of contact for the search of a new Legal Manager- As direct supervisor, set out the division of tasks and supervise work of Legal Manager● Legal Department- Together with VP IP and Legal, determine and manage legal budget as well as points of action to be undertaken for the optimization of the functioning of the Legal DepartmentAs Principal Legal Manager I report to the VP IP and Legal, who is also member of the Executive Committee of Ablynx.

In this function, the main focus lies on three key responsibilities, i.e.:● Contract negotiations, drafting and follow-up- Transactional work (value of 10M and more)- Managing risks involved in the execution of said contracts (liability, quality and timing of deliverables, allocation of necessary resources, making sure that the contracts reflect and support the general business strategy of the company,…)- Internal follow-up on agreements ● Company projects - Represent the legal department in various project and core teams - Being responsible for all legal aspects of assigned projects - Formulating, implementing and executing the legal strategy of assigned projects - Determining, securing and applying the resources required for implementing and executing the legal strategy for the assigned projects - Supporting projects leaders for assigned projects - Supporting decision-making processes for assigned projects, by providing legal- related information and advice - For assigned partnered programs, acts as main point of contact for the legal representative of the partner - Chair various project teams for the formulation and implementation of “best practices”● IP and Legal Department - General support to the VP IP and Legal concerning all kind of IP and legal related items - Contributing to the management of the IP and legal department and the overall IP and legal infrastructure - Follow up on relevant legal developments in various relevant jurisdictions and ensure that the team is aware of those that concern the company and/or its IP and legal strategy - Contribute to overall insurance policy of Ablynx As Senior Legal Manager I reported to the VP IP and Legal, who is also member of the Executive Committee of Ablynx.

In this function, I was involved in establishing contracts that relate to the company’s business and research, setting up appropriate legal infrastructure and supporting the provision of advice on all legal matters that arise within the company. More specifically this entails:- Transactional work in support of business and science (drafting and negotiation of service agreements, collaboration agreements, license agreements, MTA’s, NDA’s,…)- Internal follow-up on agreements (supporting the implementation of new agreements, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of the contents, rights, obligations and deliverables under agreements, following up on actions required under agreements,...)- Legal support of research projects- Overseeing the set-up and implementation of an (electronic and paper) document management system for the administration of the legal database and archives- Assist in the organization of the IP and Legal Department- Represent the legal department in various project and core teams- General support to the IP and Legal Counsel concerning all kind of IP and legal related itemsAs Legal Manager I reported to the IP and Legal Counsel.
