I studied physics with main focus on optics/ photonics.In my Master thesis and short stay past it at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena I gathered experience working with chirped pulse amplified laser systems and probing fluorescence signals in the time regime of femto and pico seconds.Later, I joined the group Biophotonics & Medical Imaging for a PhD-project in the field of optical coherence tomography. The focus of my work in this project lies on velocimetry and polarization sensitivity for ophthalmic applications. It involves experimental work in building and alignment of optical setup, synchronization of data acquisition and transfer of experimental systems into clinical studies. Another big part of this work is the theoretical modeling, simulation of measured signals and data / image analysis.
