CurrentMy practice focuses on advising hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, long-term care and other providers on regulatory compliance issues, government investigations and health care transactions.I counsel clients on compliance with the Stark and Antikickback laws, Medicare and Medicaid billing and reimbursement, HIPAA compliance, data privacy and security, hospital-physician alignment, peer review, negotiation of managed care and vendor contracts, provider licensing and operational issues. I assist providers with Medicare and Medicaid audits, self-audits of billing and compliance practices and self-disclosures of compliance matters to CMS and OIG. I regularly represent providers in investigations by government agencies, including the Department of Justice, Department of Health and Human Services, State Attorney General, Office of Civil Rights and State provider licensing authorities. I also have extensive experience in corporate health care transactions and structure and negotiate affiliations, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures involving hospitals, surgery centers, physician practices and other health care businesses.
