About Mercè Graell

Mercè is an international design strategist, researcher, and educator with over 25 years of applied experience leading human-centered design projects and programs. Pioneering Design Thinking in Europe and Service and Business Design in the US, she has worked with leading organizations and brands creating high-impact products, services, systems, and spaces as Strategic Design Director at Designit, an European-based strategic design consultancy firm with 18 offices worldwide, where she founded the Barcelona office. Over the years, Mercè has led the development of multidisciplinary departments, human capital, and innovative tools and methodologies that leveraged network-wide resources at Designit and other design firms. In academia, Mercè consults international universities and development organizations, providing executive level education in the evolving field of human-centered design as it is applied in different industries.
