Used the .NET IDE and C++ to develop configurable user interfaces for high profile projects shipped to millions of consumers worldwide. Quality assurance background leads to software that has a high degree of “works the first time”. Responsible for many aspects of product development including the initial setup and componentization of pieces.

Responsible for enhancing existing build tools (using C++) to support Perforce, Sonic's version control system of choice. This included the process of converting thousands of files and hundreds of components from PVCS to Perforce. Once the system was designed, implemented, and fully tested, taught others to take my place so that I could once again move into a full time programming

multiple groups, shipping 300+ products a year in 15 languages. Responsible for all Configuration Management needs of around 40 engineers providing hundreds of build components many of which were used in multiple products. Enforced standards to help in localization and OEM customization. PVCS administrator managing extensive branches of multiple code bases. Responsible for NT domain Administration issues (in charge of the development domain, NT build server and 5 "clean" build machines). Designed and implemented intranet web site for improved communication and documenting of existing build related processes. Developed and maintained tools to aid in the reproducibility of builds using C and C++.

Configuration management, build automation, use tools and create tools to support these activities for groups of developers and Quality Assurance Departments to utilize as part of the formal release process.

Disaster Recovery diskette creation for NT workstation. Worked on a team to produce a disaster recovery solution for NT workstation. Wrote user interface code for "Seagate Direct Tape Access" project, targeting Win 3.x, Windows 9x and NT 4.x all with the same source. Implemented shell extensions with dialogs that morph depending on content. Designed and implemented flexible automation testing tools to test the new file system drivers.Responsible for designing and writing a customizable installer that was used (and was used for years) for all of the desktop division's installable 32-bit products, pushing the envelope with the advanced features of the InstallShield scripting language. The installer included support for NT and Win95/98 and was fully customized for supporting languages, different OEMs, and different application installations.Wrote Installer for Windows 95 Backup Exec using some of the advanced features of InstallShield. Reverse engineered their resource DLLs and was shipping localized versions before InstallShield was shipping their localized DLLs.

Developed test plans for the company's first DOS and Windows international products. Task Lead responsible for deciding where the quality assurance team's time and effort was applied. Task lead responsibilities included, but are not limited to: interviewing and training new personnel, designing test matrices/plans, approving team member's matrices/plans, ensuring not only software quality, but driver support for tape devices.
