After preparing and defending her PhD thesis on Speech Synthesis at LIMSI-CNRS in 1992, Martine Garnier-Rizet spent a post-doctoral year at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH), followed by a year as research engineer at Telia Research (Swedish Telecommunications). When she returned to France, she took part in the launch of FRANCIL (French Network of Language Engineering). In 1996, She joined the Speech Processing R&D department at VECSYS (Bertin Technologies), where she worked as project leader, business manager, and Industry & Services manager until August 2012. In March 2008, while keeping part of her activities in the industrial field, she joined the French-German Institute for Multilingual & Multimedia Information (IMMI-CNRS) where she was in charge of the scientific information dissemination within the Quaero program, coordinated by Technicolor. Martine Garnier-Rizet has been a member of the RNTL executive board (National Network of Software Technologies), vice-president of ELRA board (European Language Resources Association) in 2009 and 2010. She has also been a member then president of the Knowledge Engineering Committee at Cap Digital (The French Cluster for Digital Transformation) from September 2011 to August 2012.In September 2012, she joined the French National Research Agency (ANR) as Program Officer, where she manages the Digital Content and Human-Machine Interaction program. She is involved in the Open Access and the Research Data Management working groups at Science Europe. She coordinates the H2020 Future Emerging Technologies National Contact Point (FET-NCP) for France.
