Responsible for driving the implementation of and the continuous improvement of the cyber security posture for Aerial Direct. Reducing the risk of and mitigating the impact of any unauthorised activity with the information systems by leveraging ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and NIST frameworks and using industry leading detection and mitigation tools and techniques. Business impact assessments, risk analysis and mitigation, incident management and business continuity. Penetration tests, vulnerability management and corrective actions.

Designing and hosting eCommerce solutions.

Defining and executing information security, business continuity and data retention and backup policies. Penetration testing, system security, audit and mitigation and delivering excellent IT, MRP, ERP systems and Support services to the business. Implemented ISO 27001 and the ITIL framework, improving communication with the business and fostering an honest and open amazing culture by empowering and trusting in my staff.

The iomart Group PLC is the UK's leading cloud services provider.Following the acquisition in 2013 with an earn out period ending in March 2014 I was responsible for the continued growth of the brand known as Redstation. My core focus at Redstation was providing IAAS solutions to the growing cloud community enabling enterprises to own colocated, managed or dedicated server solutions in support of their public or private cloud infrastructure requirements.Left for a new challenge.

Redstation was a privately owned data centre providing 24x7 colocation, managed services and dedicated servers to cloud providers amongst many other customers in 83 countries. I joined as the new Managing Director in2010 to bring the company under control and provide strategic leadership and growth. With full P&L responsibility I introduced monthly financial forecasts, variance analysis and formal board packs. Also created and chaired the company’s first board of Directors.Introduced new sales, marketing and partner strategies to foster growth. Capitalised on market demand for infrastructure services. Developed new service offerings and influenced the direction of the EU dedicated server market.Generated profit and maintained profit within 2 years of growth strategy. Responsible for the overall leadership and lead role in managing implementation projects of our enterprise software solution. Maintained complete control on project schedules, budgets and risk issues. Managed projects for large multinationals such as Barclays Private Bank, Citigroup, Aviva, Bank of New York, UBS Private Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and JPMorgan in over 30 countries.Oversaw and executed process improvements and the development of policies, procedures, methods, and tools in support of project delivery.Responsibilities included supporting pre-sales processes and working with sales and account management professionals to win new business; proposal review and refinement; recruiting and staff development.Establish strategic plans along with other business leaders and maintain strong relationships with solutions delivery, the sales team, client and account managers and other business leaders in support of cross-product businesses. Packed a rucksack and headed off for a 12 month backpacking experience. USA, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Europe. Life changing stuff.

Started out as a technician fixing hardware, software and network issues at the 3000 user site in Warwick. Progressed into the Global Services Outsourced division and managed a team of support operatives in providing outsourced backup solutions. Moved into a System Operator role and managed the Bath, Wirral and Winchester Hospital systems in a 24/7 capacity.Changed track and became a junior programmer and then moved into an analyst programmer role taking existing mainframe legacy systems and developing new ones.
