About Michelle Gundich

Michelle Gundich is a IT Project Manager at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial. Colleagues describe them as "I had the pleasure of managing Michelle for 2+ years in her role as a senior telecommunications engineer with Cerner. Her passion and commitment to the job set the bar for what adding excellence to a team can do. My bar for managing excellence has been measured against the success I had while working with Michelle ever since. It's hard to talk about Michelle and not thinking about her steller customer service. I received countless electronic "kudos" from hospital directors, managers, and employees who worked with her and felt like she handled their issues with urgency, sensitivity, and like it was just as important to her as it was to them. Her emotional intelligence is off the chart high. Just as impressive as her customer service excellence was how many ways she found substantial cost savings for the customers she served. Whether it was her outside-the-box thinking of implementing a CISCO auto attendance in order to reduce the need to hire additional FTEs for every new clinic opening (while also speeding up the call time to answer), or the often challenging process of converting POTS lines to SIP, persistently pushing for the decommissioning of voice gateways (which would reduce support costs), constantly evaluating circuit usage across all hospitals/clinics and then canceling when not needed - Michelle was consistently finding ways to save the health system money and simplify the ongoing support process. While being very customer service focused, Michelle was also very shrewd with all the telco vendors she worked with (i.e., CISCO, AT&T, Tympani, to name a few). She excelled at negotiating VOIP phone deals (in an effort to keep the environment as current and problem-free as possible), fixing the health systems emergency call routing services by working with the carriers directly, and also managing each vendor relationship with professionalism and care I rarely see. A lot of that boiled down to holding them accountable for the SLA's and services they were providing. At the end of the day, I don't think I managed Michelle; I'm fairly certain she managed me. Having her on my team made the job immensely easier thanks to all the consistent kudos coming in for her work as well as the creative ways she managed to save the customer money. I can't recommend Michelle more to anyone in need of her unique skill sets. Few people can be more transformative to the team they are on than her." and "Michelle is always a pleasure to work with. She is a meticulous notetaker and we leaned heavily on her when we needed documentation. Michelle worked with our automation team to help complete Professional Services Automation (PSA) test scripts in Workday. Michelle wrote out the test scripts and worked closely with the automation team to ensure the tests were completed in time. Michelle and the automation team were able to automate about 90% of the test scripts I had been running manually, saving me valuable time around Workday's semi-annual releases. Michelle also helped us stay organized by sorting Azure DevOps tickets to the right team members. She also was able to provide friendly customer support on Tier 2 service desk issues. She always brings a positive attitude and is willing to help out wherever needed."
