Having just closed a £100m plus transaction (buy-side), I realise that I need to be in a firm that is supportive and has the many areas of expertise that my wonderful clients increasingly have a need for. I am so happy to have joined gunnercooke. My client base is varied and it ranges from some wonderful start-ups and super bright visionaries to much larger more structured businesses. The key to them all is connection. We create value together. Yes - it is entirely possible, most of the time. When not, we limit the downside.I have been a very busy lawyer for over 30 years. I have a truly international practice with access to great lawyers the world over at any time. I enjoy my work as much as the day I started. With my clients we fix things, we find solutions. We focus on what we need to achieve. The key is humility, a willingness to learn, openness and strategic thinking. On that basis my experiences have involved every aspect of the businesses and often the personal lives, of many of my clients. I have worked in many jurisdictions, dealt with companies, buildings, assets of most types, large private toys, some fantastic classics, art and all sorts of people, some more appealing than others! I have two fabulous men as my “children” and I have managed to hold a marriage together with a wonderful woman for over 33 years, notwithstanding the many challenges I am sure I have created for her.
