    In May of 2011, Mrs. Hartwig-Davis was appointed as a Commissioner to WSSC by Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker III. She served until her resignation effective July 17th, 2013 and her family's relocation outside the county. As a Commissioner, Mrs. Hartwig-Davis, along with five other Commissioners, governed the state agency that delivers safe drinking water and provides reliable sewage disposal services to the bi-county area of Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, serving 1.8 million residents. This governance included: oversight of three Direct Reports including the General Manager/CEO, an annual operating and capital budget of approx. $1.5 billion, establishing and monitoring a strategic plan to ensure cost-effective and environmentally-friendly business practices, compliance with Federal and State statutes, and fostering relationships with rate-payers. As a LEED Accredited Professional and architect, Ms. Hartwig-Davis brought a unique and skilled perspective of the building and sustainable aspects to the Commission.
