I am a clinical pharmacist who is dedicated for research and academic teaching in the field of clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice. My research focus is the quality use of medicine among geriatric and pediatric patients. Therefore, my research targets the role of pharmacists in improving the quality of prescribing in these vulnerable populations and evaluating the humanistic, economical and clinical outcomes of the pharmacist’s intervention. After finishing my Master’s degree, I held a clinical research associate position in the first Syrian clinical research organization. This experience equipped me with a profound knowledge about clinical trials, ethical considerations and data analysis.Since 2008, I have been involved in teaching several courses that are related to clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice. My academic duties include but are not limited to: teach theoretical classes, teach practical sessions, prepare final exam questions, develop new courses and supervise students during their hospital attachment as well as assess their performance. My teaching philosophy can be summarized by the acronym “SMARTT” which stands for Simplification, Motivation, Affection, Revision, Targeting and Training.
