Resolved a vendor application programming error that had caused episodic CICS production outages for the previous 6 years. Performed capacity analysis, planning, implementation, and post-production support of CICS during systems merger that resulted in a doubling of CICS production workload. Designed, installed, configured, and maintained Websphere Enterprise Service Bus architecture on Windows servers. Other products installed, maintained, and supported as the primary systems programmer include: CA Common Services, CA-1 (TMS), Endevor, Easytrieve, DFSORT, z/UNIX, VTAM, Telnet, Verastream Bridge to CICS, Mackinney Batch to CICS, Mackinney VTAM/Switch, IBM Debug Tool, IBM Fault Analyzer.July 2009 - November 2011: While still supporting the mainframe as needed, engaged in the initial design, installation, and implementation of a new Power6 system, running i5/OS v6.1 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11. Primarily responsible for system design, installation, configuration, and ongoing support for Websphere Process Server, Websphere Service Registry and Repository, Websphere Enterprise Service Bus, Websphere Application Server,Websphere Partner Gateway, and DB2 Enterprise Server environments on Linux. Set up databases on DB2-LUW and DB2 on i5/OS. Performed initial setup and troubleshooting for Websphere Datapower XI50 devices.Prior to July, 2009: Mainframe specialist with primary responsibility for CICS and related software support. Additional primary responsibilities include software from ISV vendors CA (Common Services, TLMS, Easytrieve, Examine), Compuware (Xpediter/TSO and CICS, Abendaid and Abendaid/CICS, Fileaid/MVS, QA Hiperstation), Syncsort, MacKinney, and Attachmate. Support for other mainframe functions, including MVS, TCP/IP, RACF, TSO, etc., in a backup and oncall role.

Systems Administrator

Started out in the computer and printer room as a Systems Operator on the late shift. Moved up to Day shift in 6 months, lead operator within the year, and moved to Systems Administrator by the end of 2001. In systems, member of an infrastructure group responsible for technologies bridging various platforms. Primary responsibilities for mainframe included CICS, Adabas, Natural, Websphere WAS, and IP printing services (VPS and IP Printway). On Wintel side, provided support for VPS Anyqueue server and HP-Openview for Windows server cluster and DCs. Also provided support for Citrix cluster during roll-out of Peoplesoft. On UNIX side, supported HP-Openview for UNIX, plus various mainframe OMVS functions.In 2004-2005, systems group was reorganized, and I became a mainframe generalist, with primary responsibility for z/OS, TSO, RACF, IMS, TCP/IP, DFHSM/SMS, a large suite of CA products (TMS, CA-7, Dispatch, JARS, PMA, Panvalet, etc), and others.

Graduated FC class A school in June 1994 as Distinguished Military Graduate. Graduated FC class C school (AEGIS Computers and Peripherals) in Dec 1994 as Honor Graduate.Served rest of enlistement as computer technician aboard USS Chosin (CG-65) out of Pearl Harbor, with primary responsibility for maintenance and troubleshooting of AEGIS Weapon System computer hardware and software. Served on two Persian Gulf deployments in 1995 and 1997. Promoted to FC2 in June 1995. Computer room supervisor from April 1998, responsible for work assignments, planning of maintenance activities, and requisition of parts/supplies. Collateral duties included damage control (served various positions in damage control team, culminating in lead investigator) and physical security (including Shore Patrol, armed shipboard patrol, and security reaction force).
