I worked with the Monetization Squad to build out the next generation of the InVision billing interface. I was one of two frontend engineers working in a React, Typescript and Redux code base to handle account upgrades and downgrades, credit card charges, account management, and integration with internal finance systems.Our squad was responsible for the complete life cycle of the billing experience including reporting telemetry to various monitoring and logging systems (Datadog, Loggly, New Relic), load testing, bug fixes and incident management, unit and integration tests (Jest, Cypress) and continuous integration pipelines.

I was part of the team that built the new InVision team management interface and APIs and converted a monolith codebase to a new microservice architecture.As one of several frontend engineers we built a React, Flow, and Redux code base from scratch to support team management functions: managing members, roles, and team settings.I helped build various backend APIs in Golang and translated the business logic from old monolith services to the new architecture.

I served as the sole initial developer in building a web application for outdoor enthusiasts to manage their gear. The UI was built in React, Flow, and Redux and was backed by several Go APIs and a Postgres database as well as several integrations with Amazon and product data suppliers.I helped bring on another developer to scale out the UI and transitioned primarily to a backend focus.

I led a team of five engineers in moving a PHP monolith on bare metal servers to a microservice architecture on AWS.I coordinated daily with designers, product managers, and executives to manage product and technical requirements, timelines, and estimates. I reported to the CTO and later on the CEO and worked closely with sales and product staff to help close the largest single deal in company history.I led the expansion of the initial team of three and hired two additional engineers. In the process I helped standardize the company's technical interview process by establishing a bank of questions and standardized interview exercises.
