I am serving as a Senior Advisor to the Firm and a member of the Firm's Innovation Committee. Previously I served as the Chief Marketing Officer for White & Case, a global position overseeing marketing, business development, client strategy, communications, research, and knowledge management. I am also involved in designing and delivering partner and leader training. I am certified as an executive coach. I have been involved in innovation for decades. First as the founder of Pro Bono Net, a non-profit that increases access to justice via innovative use of technology. And today, I am a member of the firm's Innovation Committee which oversees projects relating to innovative client service. In 2021, I was recognized by the FT Innovative Lawyers, North America, as the Most Innovative Change Maker. I started my career as a litigator at Latham & Watkins for 10+ years, ending up as a partner and co-head of the NY office litigation department. In 1998, Latham gave me a leave of absence to pursue an idea about using the new web technologies to link together public interest and pro bono lawyers across the United States. That leave ended up leading to the creation of a new organization -- Pro Bono Net. I founded and led the organization until 2005. I was involved in all aspects of the organization including technology, the network support program, fundraising and strategic planning. I joined Freshfields in 2005 as the Chief Knowledge Officer. In January 2007, the role was expanded to include business development and marketing. I managed all aspects of the firm's knowledge management, business development, marketing and research services.
