• R&D leader through numerous cycles of innovative research, development (LDT, CE), validation, and deployment, including five cutting edge products: -- Noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) for trisomies and five microdeletions -- Carrier screening for inherited diseases by NGS -- Preimplantation genetic diagnosis for translocations and inherited single gene disorders -- Noninvasive Paternity Testing -- Ultra-sensitive and specific liquid biopsy in oncology• Co-invented superior approach to noninvasive prenatal testing that enabled: highly accurate results at volumes greater than 500,000 pregnancies per year; US market share leadership; revenues exceeding $200M per year; a successful company IPO in 2015.• Developed novel ultrahigh multiplex PCR method (>20K primer pairs, single reaction) with high precision chemistry yielding high uniformity and minimal amplification variance.• Collaborated extensively with mathematicians and statisticians to incorporate statistical models for amplification bias, sequencing error, and Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood approaches to achieve best in class test performance.• Established and managed a highly effective team of fifty (from two initially) with a budget of tens of millions and responsibilities over research, development, validation, manufacturing, lab operations, as well as technical sales, training, and support.• Routinely contributed critical scientific and strategic guidance directly to CEO.• Obtained and helped maintained CLIA, CAP, NYSDOH test compliance; ISO13485 and CE marking for kits.• 13 scientific publications, 4 issued patents, and 12 patent applications.• Invited speaker at: PMWC, 2015; Molecular Diagnostics - Europe, 2015; ASHG, 2015; Molecular Medicine Tri-Con, 2014; ASRM, 2012.
