The Office of Future Engineers has provided me the opportunity to interact with incoming engineering students and share my personal experiences at Purdue. At times this meant presenting to a room with as many as 100 people in a 50 minute format. I also interact with prospective students and their family members via email, phone call, online chat and in person.

While at Refax I Created 2-D schematics in Autodesk inventor and generated bill of materials for project quotes . I learned about fabrication processes through shop experiences with welders, fitters, and conversations with company mentors. Working in a small company setting allowed me to work on projects start to finish witnessing projects and project issues from many angles.

When I was a camp counselor I worked with 9 other counselors to create a fun and educational experience for campers from the age of 4 to 14. During a given week I would guide a group of 10 to 15 campers in activities such as outdoor games challenge/low rope courses and community service activities. Applied first aid skills to minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, scrapes, and at one time a broken finger when necessary. Working as a counselor challenged me to think outside the box; It required a lot of teamwork and critical thinking.

As a deli clerk I assisted customers in finding products that satisfied their needs by offering recommendations and answering questions. I stocked displays to create a visually pleasing presentation and used time management skills to accomplish tasks like slicing meat, cleaning, or taking out trash in a timely manner. I prioritized assigned tasks and communicated those tasks with the other clerks.
