Background and Purpose: Creating a strong liaison between families and school leads to higher child success (H. B. Weiss, 2009). Guiding the board in their effort to deepen the school’s relationships with families and community. Striving for an all-encompassing child support system to model the education that Maria Montessori envisioned. Montessori education facilitates “the child’s gradual discovery, throughout the whole of childhood, of the inter-relatedness of all things on earth, in the past, in the present, and in the future” (Montessorichildrencommunity.org, 2014). Dr. Montessori believed that meeting the needs of the child the needs of the world would also be met. As a school the goal is to create the inter-connectedness of the world in which each child lives.

Tahoe-Truckee Engineers Association is a diverse group of Engineers in and surrounding the Tahoe- Truckee Lake Basin. The purpose of the group is to learn about and collaborate on current and local issues concerning our engineering practice and provide stewardship for our community.As Co-Chair, I shared the responsibility of coordinating and scheduling a thoughtful speaker series for bi-monthly meetings, developing and fostering effective partnerships with local non-profit organizations and creating and maintaining platforms for continual collaboration and professional growth. TTEA stewardship:Provide scholarships to local high school students entering the field of engineering. Volunteer at STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) awareness nights for local middle and upper schools.Volunteer with local environment impact groups.

As owner and engineer, I was solely responsible for procuring contracts, team collaboration, providing structural engineering services, project management, performing on-site observations and creating detailed reports.• Provided structural engineering services to over 150 commercial and residential projects exceeding $80 million in total construction value. Managed all aspects of structural consulting consisting of proposals, schedules, contracts, engineering design including on-site observations and reports. • Provided structural analysis and preparation of seismic mitigation reports for Napa Valley School District resulting in over $2 million of state funds for seismic retrofit to 18 California schools.

• Provided energetic, fun, and safe learning environments for multifaceted students. Worked with math department to increase focus on application and problem-solving skills within evidence-based curriculum. Utilized open ended formative assessments to understand student mental models. Assisted the NAIS accreditation process by evaluating curriculum effectiveness quantitatively with student success rate and qualitatively by observing and evaluating student engagement.• Coached Middle-distance track and women’s varsity soccer.
