In 2002 I first went to Young Life so a classmate would stop asking me about it. However, it led to the best week of my life that summer and I've been involved ever since. I served on staff starting in 2009, met my husband at a YL camp, and then I served five years in Germany (Young Life Military - Club Beyond). Now I recruit for my former position "Community Director" through the Club Beyond Service Center's Recruiting Department. I’ve worked both in direct ministry as well as headquarter roles to include a wide range of experiences within Young Life to give me a perspective of the needs, challenges, and opportunities within the mission.All of our initiatives, goals, and projects have a common goal: share the Gospel with military kids all over the world and help them grow in their faith. This common goal we strive to do with excellence and wisdom.A huge piece of what we do is help prospective candidates discern if they are called to serve with the Young Life Military mission. We have an eight step process culminating in a Discernment Weekend in Colorado Springs that is very effective for staff candidates to learn if this opportunity is the right fit.I love to work with applicants and see them grow in their gifts, skills, and character - both as members of their community and as mentors for others. My objective is to aide candidates by understanding their experiences, passions, and talents and reflecting back what I hear. To serve others better than myself with an encouraging and authentic environment is my goal. There's nothing like being part of a team making a difference in the next generation!
